The SPNN Summer Youth Intern Program is an intensive paid training program where St. Paul teens work together to make meaningful media about community issues. This program provides young people entering grades 9-12 with hands-on media production experience. Interns learn camera operation, interviewing, and digital editing to create their own short documentary videos. Watch this video to see some of the fun interns had last year. CTV’s Teen Production Club

CTV is starting a new teens-only video production club open to anyone ages 13-18.  This club is a place for you to explore your creative side and learn about video production in a friendly, casual, and supportive environment.  Come meet other teens, learn video production skills, share project ideas, and get feedback on your projects from staff mentors and other teens!  Possible projects might include: PSAs, documentaries, music videos, news or talk shows, use of the green screen, stop-motion animation, and more – it’s really up to you! TCYMN August Updates

SPNN Youth’s event “Munchies, Movies and Music” in Mears Park was a great success with more than 100 people turning out to watch youth media! Outreach for the 2012-13 Set It Up season has already started. Interested youth can register here. MTN wrapped up its summer camps in July. You can see the youth-produced projects here and here. MPR is working on its Young Reporter Series and hopes to have some new work completed in September. KFAI wrapped up its YNI program with a graduation! You can check out their work here. TCYMN Summer Updates

SPNN is starting its Youth Intern Program in July, which will employ 12 youth through Youth Job Corps. SPNN will also be training 6 youth media leaders and hiring 2 youth, who will produce promos each week for the Sprockets Network. Perpich is planning for an annual youth festival and working on workshop trainings for teachers. CTV will be starting a Youth Summer Jobs program in July. CTV has been screening the film Miss Representation at Ramsey County Libraries as a way to promote its female youth media program, which will also begin soon.
